How does it work?

The lock-in takes place on Friday night and begins at 6:30 pm, with doors opening at 6.  Students have time to go home, eat and change into their fun pajamas for the evening while moms and staff have time to go home from work, change into their fun pajamas and be back at the school. 

SCHEDULE FOR THE LOCK-IN:

6:00 p.m.-6:30-Doors Open/Registration  (The staff of “In Her Shoes” hosts a game as moms and daughters arrive)

6:30-7:30-Session One with Shannon

7:30-7:45-Break

7:45-8:45-Session Two with Shannon

8:45-9:30-Break-Out Sessions with Moms and Daughters

9:30-10:15-Break, Light Snack and a Sing-along

10:15-11:15-Session Three with Shannon

11:15-Midnight-Special Time of Connection for Moms and Daughters/Closing

What IN HER SHOES supplies:

*all decorations for stage

*booklets that include materials for the event

*door prizes

*music

* break-out session leaders and materials

*games and activities

*full-time event manager for IN HER SHOES accessible to you for direction as you plan/prepare
*assistance with online registration

*all advertising (flyers, social media ads) designed specifically for your group’s event

*tour bus so lodging is covered (one hotel room for the team to clean up may be needed in some areas)

*one security guard

What School Hosts provide:

*cafeteria or central space in school that allows moms and daughters to move comfortably

*round tables and chairs

*drinks and snacks of your choice

*a screen large enough to be seen by all in the room

*Volunteers-We ask that 3-5 volunteers from the school be present who are familiar with the students.  This is to help serve snacks, check moms and daughters in at registration and patrol the limited areas where moms and daughters will be.

*Help with publicity via newsletter, emails, social media platforms, etc.

*Set up and tear down of tables and chairs

*one room for break-out sessions with moms.  (Girls stay in the main room with Shannon)

*Disposable plastic cloths for tables and additional table decorations if desired.
